Cameroon midfielder dies at 26.




Cameroon midfielder Patrick Ekeng has died at the age of 26 of a suspected heart attack after collapsing on the pitch. Patrick Ekeng fell to the floor in the 70th minute of a televised Romanian league match between Dinamo and Viitorul. He died two hours in the hospital after the collapse. The Cameroonian FA confirmed the news on Twitter,while Ekeng's former club Cordoba tweeted:"We are speechless at what has befallen us" Ekeng had also previously played for Le Mans and Lausanne. In 2003, Cameroon international midfielder Marc-Vivien Foe died after collapsing during a Confederations Cup match against Colombia in France. Ekeng's Cameroon international team-mate Stephane Mbia and Arsenal defender Hectare Bellerin has paid reacted th the death of the footballer. Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has also paid his respects. This is indeed a big loss in the football world.
