Founder of DAAR Communications, owners of AIT and Raypower, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi has announced his recovery from coronavirus.
Dokpesi has subsequently being discharged from the COVID-19 treatment centre at Gwagwalada, FCT-Abuja.
The AIT founder in a statement he personally signed appreciated the numerous Nigerian who showed concern to him and his family including; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, Governor Nyesom Wike, former President, Goodluck Jonathan and former Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida, among others.
High Chief Raymond Dokpesi in the statement expressed belief that with well-thought-out policies, coupled with targeted and highly coordinated investment in the health system, Nigeria’s fight against COVID-19 may become the catalyst for the much-needed reform in the health sector.
According to him; “The past weeks have provided us with a first-hand experience of the enormous challenge before us as a country. We are better acquainted with the personal sacrifices many Nigerians are making to ensure that we collectively defeat this pandemic. This cuts across the policymakers, the care providers and even the cleaners whose job puts them at constant risk of exposure.
“I am exceptionally indebted to God Almighty for keeping and protecting me and my entire family all through our isolation at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada Isolation Centre.
“My gratitude goes to many Nigerians in the county and in the diaspora for their outpouring of concern and prayers.
“However, special mention must be made of the SGF, Mr Boss Mustapha & Chairman PTF, who not only sympathized with me & my family but also personally made both video & voice calls on several occasions to ascertain our well-being.”

Customs rake in N1.6bn in Kwara, warns saboteurs

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service says it has generated N1.6 b revenue into the Federal Government’s coffers in the first quarter of 2020, even as it warned saboteurs to keep off the command or meet their Waterloo.
The command’s Comptroller In-Charge, Ahmed Husseini Bello, also warned officers to shun bribery and corruption or be ready to be shown the way out.
Ahmed disclosed this in a statement by the command’s public relations officer, Chado Zakari and made available to newsmen in Ilorin in Wednesday.
He said despite the lull occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic, the command generated the sum of N1.6 b representing 21 percent of the command’s annual target of N8.038 b.
He said the command recorded 54 seizures with duty paid value (DPV) of N282,198,292.00 in the first quarter of 2020, adding that the total amount of revenue generated by the command since its creation stands at N4.100 b.
The Comptroller said efforts were being intensified to identifying and blocking all possible avenues of revenue leakages, enhancing capacity and ensuring disciplinary actions are taken on any erring officer found compromising among others.
Ahmed declared that” seizures were successfully accomplished as a result of renewed determination of the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali to rid the country of all forms of illegal importation.”
He appealed to Nigerians to support the command by providing credible information that will help nip smuggling in the bud and generate needed revenue for national development.
