Acne Skin Care 8 Simple Tips To Follow

Commonly affecting the skin condition of people between ages 12 to 24 is a disease called acne.

The cause of acne is hard to determine. However, over secretion of the sebaceous glands is pointed as the cause to trigger most acne outbreaks. Pilosebaceous units are the combination of the hair follicles and oil glands in the skin. Except for the surface of the palms and the soles of the feet, pilosabaceous units are found on the skin tissue throughout the body .

They are responsible in secreting the oily substance called sebum. However, due to many factors (e.g. hormonal imbalances, stress and the skin’s natural condition) the oil glands may be induced to produce more sebum than normal.

When this happens, the excess oil plugs the skin pores. This process brings about bacterial infection and stimulate the reaction of the immune system. In the end, acne inflammation results. Acne can strike at any skin type. An oily skin type is most subseptible to acne. Dry skin on the other hand, may not be as susceptible but serious outbreaks may occur during winter.

Normal skin is equally susceptible to acne but the level of severity may not be as high. Presently, acne is not yet totally curable but can be remedied with several acne skin care methods. Many seek the help of topical medications, which are applied on the surface of the skin.

However, employing the use of acne skin care products like “pore strip pads” may remove whiteheads and blackheads but they would not have any effect on the excess sebum produced. Nevertheless, for remedy and prevention, it is best to employ the following 8 simple tips: 1. A healthy, well-balanced diet must be observed.

Therefore, your food intake must incorporate all the essential nutrients the body needs for efficient functioning. 2. Drink plenty of fluids like water, juices. Minimize the intake of carbonated drinks. 3. No make up is recommended. 4.

Wash your face with mild soap and water. The logic is to not remove the dirt (as the majority of acne-inflicted person perceive) but to remove the plugs on the skin pores, which may be a combination of dead skin cells, bacteria and hardened sebum.

Although dirt is not truly the cause of acne, it may contribute to further infection through its interaction with skin debris and particles and extra oil in the skin. 5. Use topical cleansing pads that may contain one or the combination of the following: salicylic acid, sulfur and benzoyl peroxide to remove excess oil.

Another way to minimize the presence of extra oil in the skin is to wash the face with the hottest water you can withstand. 6. Minimize the use of harsh cleansers and use acne skin care items that exfoliate mildly. Do not scrub vigorously to the affected areas. 7.

If your hands are dirty, refrain from touching your face. 8. If you have long hair, tie up your hair so that it is kept away from the face. This is especially so if the weather is hot and you have been perspiring. Preventative acne skin care steps are just as important as the treatment of acne itself.

With prevention, at least, you know how to ensure that your acne problem does not escalate and spread to a bigger infected area.

Customs rake in N1.6bn in Kwara, warns saboteurs

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service says it has generated N1.6 b revenue into the Federal Government’s coffers in the first quarter of 2020, even as it warned saboteurs to keep off the command or meet their Waterloo.
The command’s Comptroller In-Charge, Ahmed Husseini Bello, also warned officers to shun bribery and corruption or be ready to be shown the way out.
Ahmed disclosed this in a statement by the command’s public relations officer, Chado Zakari and made available to newsmen in Ilorin in Wednesday.
He said despite the lull occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic, the command generated the sum of N1.6 b representing 21 percent of the command’s annual target of N8.038 b.
He said the command recorded 54 seizures with duty paid value (DPV) of N282,198,292.00 in the first quarter of 2020, adding that the total amount of revenue generated by the command since its creation stands at N4.100 b.
The Comptroller said efforts were being intensified to identifying and blocking all possible avenues of revenue leakages, enhancing capacity and ensuring disciplinary actions are taken on any erring officer found compromising among others.
Ahmed declared that” seizures were successfully accomplished as a result of renewed determination of the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali to rid the country of all forms of illegal importation.”
He appealed to Nigerians to support the command by providing credible information that will help nip smuggling in the bud and generate needed revenue for national development.

Atkins And Sugar Cravings

Sugar is everywhere you look and it might pop up in some surprising places.

Did you know that most whole grain breads have at least one form of sugar in them? We have a national sweet tooth epidemic. Even if you don’t eat a lot of sugary treats you may experience intense sugar cravings in the first few weeks of the Atkins diet.

So many “healthy” carbohydrate foods have hidden sugars in them, your body may be experiencing withdrawal.

The problem with sugar is that your blood sugar is tied into your energy levels and your overall health. When your blood sugar is too low, you will experience intense cravings.

High blood sugar is a result of eating high-sugar meals. When you eat concentrated sugar, your blood sugar will raise to high levels. Your pancreas thinks there is something wrong and then it secretes insulin to lower the blood sugar.

As this happens more, you can create pre-diabetic conditions in your body as your pancreas becomes worn out and eventually cannot secrete insulin. Fortunately, getting started on the Atkins diet plan can put a stop to this cycle.

However, this doesn’t mean that sugar cravings go away automatically. Sugar products are everywhere and temptation is sometimes hard to fight.

The best way to approach sugar cravings is with planning. If you maintain a balance of protein, fat and fiber in your daily diet you will prevent blood sugar drops that lead to sugar cravings.

Also, do not go too long between meals without eating. Snacks are an important part of keeping your blood sugar stable.

Have some handy snacks like cheese, nuts, seeds and boiled eggs on hand with you so you can quickly stabilize your blood sugar without turning to sweet treats. Sugar cravings can also be a sign of a nutritional deficiency.

When you are low on magnesium, you will crave chocolate and other sweets. Zinc and chromium can also stave off sugar cravings. If you aren’t taking a good multivitamin supplement with these minerals, start immediately.

If you are and you are still experiencing cravings, consider trying additional supplements of these nutrients. Another tactic is to brush your teeth. Many Atkins dieters find that brushing their teeth or using Listerine breath strips can help with cravings.

Both methods will numb your mouth and prevent you from wanting to eat. Drinking two large glasses of water can also help eliminate cravings. If your stomach is full, then you’ll be less likely to reach for a sugary treat. Sometimes out of sight, out of mind is the best approach.

If you find yourself overcome with cravings while you are at home, get outside and take a walk. The distraction will have you forgetting your sugar craving in no time. Calling a friend for support or logging into an Atkins support forum can also go a long way toward preventing you from succumbing to sugar cravings.

Having a low-carb version of your favorite treat is another good idea. You are less likely to feel deprived if you can have a satisfying low carb treat.

There are a wide variety of low-carb products available on the market that can beat your sweet tooth. Low-carb yogurt, chocolate, ice cream and candy can all help you stay on the Atkins plan and still get something sweet to eat.

Sugar cravings are a reality of following the Atkins plan, but the previous tips will help you overcome them and stay committed to your weight loss efforts.
